Climate:
The Rocky Mountain
climate is generally warm and dry in summer, and cold and wet in winter. During the winter, the weather is both cold and dry, so snow is powdery and may
live until spring thaw.
In contrast, Hawaii’s tropical location is consistently warm throughout the year. Average rainfall varies, but it averages about twenty-five inches annually. The rainy season is between October and March. The warm air temperatures: 85 F in summer, 78 F in winter.

Tourism:
The drivers
of the Rocky Mountain economy are tourism and recreation; ranging from scenic
viewing to hiking and climbing in the warm months and winter sports in the cold
months. In Hawaii tourism is also a major source for its economy. The dependence on tourism has led many companies to pursue high-price tourism over mass tourism.
